I created my account with Technorati.
Under “bookmobile”, I got 1373 results with both of Standard search and Advanced searches. The only difference is when I used Advanced/The exact phrase search, which gave 1376 results.
Same thing happened for the search on “nswpln2008” (7 results for both Standard and Advanced searches).
But I got diffent results when I use the Tag search.
"Standard search" checks keyword only but "Advance search" can check keyword, blogs, My favorite, URL and Tags.

Week 7 Tagging and Delicious
Discover and explore
Firstly, I had a go with these notes prepared by Sharon Morris. It is a well prepared guideline.
Secondly, I browsed del.icious and got some ideas about tagging. This is a bookmarking website. One can use it to store bookmarks online.
Del.icio.us can help people to keep links to favorite sites. One can also use del.icio.us to search for interesting links.
Tags are like keywords. One can use unlimited number of tags to one bookmark such that the bookmark can be accessed by different tags or bundled tags.
Sutherland Shire’s library tag cloud looks very good. I thought del.icious is a useful tool for libraries. I hope our library will use it in the future.
I also like the tags of the Cleveland Public Library.
Finally I have got my del.icio.us account.
I put some of my favorites in my bookmark there. You are welcome to visit my bookmark.

Week 6 done
YouTube and Google Video are quite good and easy to use. Libraries can use this technology for promotion, training and research. For example, we can use some videos from the Youtube and we can also put our videos on the Youtube for promotion purposes.

Introduction of the Go game
Go game
I embedded this video from youtube. This video is an introduction of the Go game. The rules of the Go game are very complicated. After you watch this video, you might get some basic ideas about how to play the Go game.

More Wikis
I have received the invite key from nswlearning 2.0 wiki. I made a wiki page “A List of Sydney Public Library” and linked it to http://nswlearning2.pbwiki.com/.
My answers to the two questions, which are listed below in blue, were placed under “Technical Service”.
The best thing is that we have chances to see new items all the time. I feel great the new items are catalogued and become an integrated part of the library.
People may not know that it takes a lot of time for a good cataloguer to update his/her knowledge.
I am going to start with Week 6 tasks.

Wikis discover
I had a go with the SJCPL Subject Guides wiki. I think the Subject Guides are very useful. Each subject has links with relevant pages. The format is simple and clean. The guides also include some popular and useful directories, such as Google Earth and International Phone Number Lookup.
I also had a look at the Library Success: A Best Practices Wiki and found it useful and interesting. It covers almost everything we do in libraries. At the moment, I roughly know how to edit entries in Wikis. But there are a lot of things to be learned.
I checked out all others recommended wiki pages in the Discover list. I thought some of pages are very interesting but others are not. It took a lot of time to do the Discover list.

Week 5 : wiki page
This PBwiki is not easy to use. Nevertheless, I created a wiki page "A List of Sydney Public Libraries", which includes the addresses, contact numbers and webpages of all Sydney public libraries. This is a piece for practice purpose. The information listed is useful. It took me a lot of time to complete it.

Week 4: bloglines and feeds...?
It was not hard to create an account with Bloglines and add some feeds. I got 9 feeds in my Bloglines, including the required Powerhouse-Museum-Photo-of-the-Day feed. My problem is how I can get the Libraries Learning 2.0 to know my progress.

East coast of Tasmania
This is a photo taken when I visited the east coast of Tasmania. I like this picture as it always reminds me of the sunny day we were there.

Week 2: so far so good?
Ink is a liquid, classically used for writing and drawing for many years, now computers and new technologies take over its job. That is why ink needs to be coolink. In a time like ours, we need to continuously renew our knowledge and skills to be able to take advantages of new technologies. I planned to get familiar with some of the useful stuff in the internet in this program. So far, I have been able to register with Blogger and Flickr. I have also been able to post in Blogger and upload pictures to Flickr. It has been fun so far. This Libraries Learning 2.0 is good in that it provides a chance and some pressure for us to do these systematically.
